The Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) is a network of civil society organisations working to prevent violent conflict and build sustainable peace. One of the cornerstones of our work is the convening of thematic working groups, where practitioners from our global network come together to share, learn and develop their collective knowledge on conflict prevention and peacebuilding in practice. The Preventive Action Working Group was originally formed in 2006, with a focus on conflict early warning and early response. Over the years, the group has focused on the tools, processes and capacities needed by civil society to not only play a role in conflict analysis and early warning, but also to react on such information and mobilise preventive action.
